From ancient history and medieval conformation, this splendid town dominates the Val di Chiana, overlooks Lake Trasimeno and represents one of the most evocative places in Perugia. Homeland of the famous painterPeter Vannucci, known to most as Perugino, Città della Pieve has the power to fascinate with its harmonious landscapes, picturesque alleys, Umbrian, Tuscan and Lazio influences, sweet smells and genuine flavours.

Città della Pieve stands on a hill just over 500 meters high and is part of the Monti del Trasimeno and Val di Chiana mountain community. Inside there are two panels by Perugino: "Baptism of Christ" and "Madonna in Glory and Saints".
Next to the Cathedral you will find the Torre Civica, the oldest monument in the city, and not far away theCorgna Palace, The Bishop's Palacewhere the permanent art exhibition is set up “Kossuth space" and thewater well. Other highly suggestive places are theKissing Women Alley, one of the narrowest streets in Italy, theBishop's Towerwhich rises along the perimeter walls of the city, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima and theChurch of Santa Maria dei Bianchi. Inside the latter is kept the most important work of Perugino, namely "The Adoration of the Magi".

WHERE TO SLEEP
The area surrounding Città della Pieve is full of places where you can find peace, good food, relaxation and well-being. One of them isAntheia house, which rises among the greenery of Monteleone d'Orvieto. It is a pleasant place, whose watchwords are love, sweetness and hospitality.
Another place where you can stay is “The Cornieto”, also in Monteleone d'Orvieto. In the middle of the greenery, with a beautiful cellar and an always prosperous vineyard, this agriturismo is managed by a smart lady who is very attentive to the needs of "her" guests.
