Day 3: Pozzuoli
During your 7-day itinerary between Naples and its surroundings, we recommend a thorough stop in Pozzuoli: it is located just 22 km from the capital and is mainly known for the Solfatara, an ancient volcanic crater from which fumaroles, jets of mud boiling.
In Pozzuoli there are numerous Greek and Roman ruins: the Flavian Neronian Amphitheater, the Temple of Serapis, which, unlike what one might think, is an ancient market and not a temple, and the Molo Caligoliano. After a day exploring the monuments, you could take a walk along the seafront and along the Rione Terra, the ancient village of the city, and taste a good pizza that here knows how to be cheap and sublime!
Day 4: Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coastit is the stretch of coast that extends from Positano to Vietri sul Mare, passing through iconic villages such as Amalfi, Ravello, Minori and Maiori. It is an area known throughout the world for its unique views of the sea. To discover it at its best (especially if you love trekking and walking) we advise you to follow an excursion route, such as the Path of the Gods.
Day 5: Gulf Islands (Capri, Ischia and Procida)
With a ferry, you can get from Naples (or Pozzuoli) to the islands of the Neapolitan Gulf: Capri, Ischia and Procida. In your 7-day itinerary between Naples and its surroundings, at least one of the three cannot be missing!
Capri is the most exclusive: it is known for its stacks and sea caves. If you want to admire it from above, we suggest you take a hike on Monte Solaro. Ischia, on the other hand, is known for its mineral-rich thermal waters. You can go to the Aragonese Castle, located on a small island connected by a bridge, and to the Sea Museum, dedicated to fishing. If you have time left, it is also worth visiting the colorful villages of Terra Murata, Marina Grande and Corricella on Procida.
Day 6: Pompeii and Herculaneum
The ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum have been perfectly preserved under the layer of ash that invaded them after the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD The visit to the excavations is one of the most recommended experiences during an itinerary between Naples and its surroundings, as well as a must see. To be able to fully immerse yourself in the history and culture of the past, and understand what happened in these areas before and during the great eruption, the advice is to rely on trained guides and organized excursions. In the station, a tourist reception service that offers group tours or private and personalized visits with a guide and transfer service from Naples, is the perfect solution. Between decumani, cardi, shops, thermal baths and domus, you can truly immerse yourself in what were among the largest colonies south ofRome.

A visit to the Royal Palace of Caserta is the best way to round off a 7-day itinerary between Naples and its surroundings. Campania is known for being a region where you eat very well: pizza, casatielli, impepata di cozze, gnocchi alla sorrentina, babà… there really is something for all tastes and palates!
Among the best places to eat I recommend the bar and restaurantTonga Villageof Pozzuoli with a panoramic view of the sea: it is perfect for lunch, dinner or an aperitif. Located in a captivating location, with an internal car park, Tonga Village offers traditional seafood specialities, such as seafood risotto, and some creative recipes, such as ravioli filled with cacio e pepe with mussels. However, there is also no shortage of alternatives for those who don't like fish.
If you are looking for a private spot where you can relax and enjoy a splendid view of the sea along the Amalfi Coast, the restaurantThe Gavitellaof Praiano is ideal for you. Not only does it offer some of the area's iconic specialties (the Cetara anchovies and fish-based dishes to taste) but it also offers its customers a wonderful private beach with umbrellas and sunbeds. If you want to try a different experience than usual, go to one of the dinners with live music that La Gavitella organizes on its terrace overlooking the sea.
